Kežmarok Castle in Kežmarok was established in 1463 as a Gothic fortress of the Zápoľský brothers. After a fire in 1575 it underwent a Renaissance reconstruction, which culminated in 1624 and turned the fortress into a representative residence with arcades and wall paintings. In the castle chapel you will find a Baroque interior; today the premises house a museum. The castle annually hosts summer events and theatrical performances.
